Amir Zarrinpar, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Zarrinpar graduated Magna Cum Laude with an AB in Psychology and Biology (certificate Cognitive Neuroscience) from Harvard University in 1999 and entered the MD/PhD program in at UCSD. He earned his PhD in Neurosciences in 2006 working with Dr. Ed Callaway at the Salk Institute on his thesis entitled "Local Functional Input to Neurons in the Deep Layers of Rat Visual Cortex." He also served as an associate editor for the medical student section of JAMA from 2001 to 2004. He is currently a first year resident and he will pursue his fellowship training in Gastroenterology.
